BIO

I am an internationally published photographer with a lifetime of experience working in several media. Photography has been my only focus as far as production is concerned for the past fifteen years, although I still enjoy looking at painting, sculpture, and ceramics for ideas to apply to two dimensions. My composite images are largely an outgrowth of this ongoing fascination with all things visual.  I am quite sure that my interests spill over into my headshots, portraits, and custom projects as well.  I hold the following credentials:

• Extensive education at the New York Institute of Photography 

• A Master of Fine Arts Degree (Studio Art)

• A Bachelors Degree (Studio Art and Art History)

• My work has been shown in over 90 exhibitions and galleries over a 45 year period

• I have over 15 years of experience teaching Art full time at the university level and have served as Department Chairman at two institutions

• I've honed my "people skills" through years of working with individuals and groups as a facilitator and workshop leader. You will find that our time together will be rewarding, self affirming, and revealing.

 

RECENT PUBLICATIONS AND MAGAZINES

• As of March, 2020, my image "Molly Among the Flowers" was included in the prestigious "Red List, Society and Culture".

• "Anthurium, 2020; A Fever Dream". a photo essay ,was the featured article in "Private, An International Photo Review".   This is a European publication of avant garde photography and literature and is headquartered in the Burgundy Region of France.

• I had a feature piece on a bridal design salon in "Inside Weddings" in November, 2020. This is the premier magazine in this genre worldwide.  Please note that these were fashion and business development photos for industry professionals.  I do not shoot weddings.

• My work is in the possession of many educational, corporate, and museum collections including the digital catalogue of the Smithsonian and the Smithsonian Magazine and in the Cleveland Museum of Art.

• I currently hold an ever changing portfolio and profile with "Lens Culture" magazine, Amsterdam, Netherlands.  This has an audience of over one million photo enthusiasts, editors, creative directors, and gallery owners worldwide.  "The Guardian" has praised this highly regarded publication as "One of the most authoritative and wide ranging sites".  It is easily searchable and is a terrific publication and online venue for those of you who like photography.

• I had a featured photo essay on the theme of "Our Unmade Bed" at "Boooooooom...Photos, Essays, Culture", Vancouver, Canada, in June, 2021.

• "A Still Place", a photo essay featured in FStoppers, May, 2021.

• Album Cover for the collection, 'Four Seasons of Isolation', classical music for violin and electronics. Composed and performed by Avner Finberg, DMA. 2022.

• Participant in 'Surfaces', a show of experimental photography at the Arts Center in Kentlands, Maryland, 2022.

• Invited participant in a large annual exhibition in Milan, Italy at the Spazio Tolomeo. The show is titled 'Windows on Contemporary Art', 2023.
